Ajay Devgn Announces His Upcoming Biopic On Syed Abdul Rahim, A Football Coach
These days sports biopics seem to be Bollywood’s favorite, from Diljit Dosanjh’s Soorma, to Akshay Kumar’s Gold and Ranveer Singh’s ’83, which is based on India’s 1983 cricket world cup victory, and the latest addition to list to this chain of sports biopics is none other than actor Ajay Devgn, who will soon be seen playing the role of legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, in the biopic.
Talking Saiyad Abdul Rahim, he was the Indian football team’s coach and manager between 1950 and 1963. Under his leadership, India became the first Asian country to reach the semi-finals of the Olympic Football tournament in Melbourne in 1956. Rahim also coached the Indian team to victory in the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962, and the Jakarta games in 1962.
Ajay Devgn earlier announced his film Chanakya and now with two days of it, he announces his next venture with Boney Kapoor. He will play the ancient Indian scholar and political strategist Chanakya in a film directed by Neeraj Pandey as well as Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare.
